Large deposit holders urged to buy now

First-time buyers who have saved up a large deposit have been
advised that now may be the best time for them to purchase a
property.
Managing director of FirstRungNow.com Helen Adams stated that now
is "a potentially good time to buy" if buyers have a "hefty"
deposit or a guarantor.
According to Ms Adams, the current market presents buyers with the
opportunity to get a good deal.
"There may be some good property bargains available at the moment
from those who are desperate to sell," she remarked.
Furthermore, although there are predictions that the market will
fall further this year, Ms Adams added, these price drops have
already been accounted for by those buying and selling
houses.
Property prices have fallen back to levels recorded in July 2005
with the typical home priced at £163,605, research released in
December by Halifax has shown.
The bank said annual house price falls reached 16.2 per cent last
year.
