Landlords 'should feel positive about rental market'

Landlords can feel positive about the rental sector in Britain, one
industry expert has stated.
A spokesperson for the National Approved Lettings Scheme (NALS)
explained that at times of housing shortages, the rental market
steps into fill the gap.
"All of the demographics point to the fact that there is more and
more need for rental properties and that's looking good for the
future," he said.
The representative added that an increasing number of people are
choosing to rent rather than buy property.
His comments come as a survey of landlord confidence carried out by
Upad.com revealed that 57 per cent of British homeowners in the
rental sector had increased confidence in the buy-to-let market at
the beginning of February compared with the same time in
January.
Figures published by the Council of Mortgage Lenders on February
11th revealed that lending in the market grew in the final quarter
of 2009 for the second consecutive three-month period.
